Balanced Living Fitness Studio (BLFS) takes a multi-disciplinary approach to health and personal fitness. Sustainable results are achievable through a healthy balance of movement, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications. Exercise, Nutrition and Lifestyle programs are customized to each individual's goals. Depending on your desired outcome, your commitment level, and your current challenges, we will work with you to create a realistic action plan. The best program is the one that you will consistently follow!

Movement: BLFS follows the flexibility, stability, strength and power paradigm with regards to exercise program design. This progression allows for improved posture and performance without pain or injury, and ultimately builds a stronger more functional body. Each new client must go through a detailed initial assessment in order to identify strengths and weaknesses in the areas of flexibility, posture, core function and primal movement patterns.

Nutrition: “Nutrition is one of the most important environmental influences on the nature of the organism”- Dr. Ray Peat The way you feel each and every day, is a reflection of how you take care of yourself. The food that you put in your body is what you are made up of, as well as what is going to energize you throughout the day. Although we all function the same from a physiological standpoint, how we react to stress (physical, nutritional, mental- emotional, spiritual) is very different. BLFS works with you in defining the very environmental factors influencing your current state of health through assessment of the metabolism. We work with you in understanding and learning exactly what your personal tools are in regulating your metabolism. Since the body is an auto-regulated system, it knows exactly what to do and how to do it when given the proper tools!
 
BLFS will teach you which foods best support how the body naturally works. Through individual fine-tuning you will learn what food quantities, frequencies and ratios best support your metabolism for your present level of healing. Improving the function of one's metabolism will ultimately lead to increased energy, being able to maintain your ideal weight, eliminate sources of pain, conquering indigestion, bloating, and allergies, increasing the vitality of your immune system, prevention of disease, increased mental focus, and ultimately improving your entire lifestyle.
 
Lifestyle: Balance is the key to success. BLFS takes a holistic approach (emphasizing the importance of the person as a whole and the interdependence of its parts) when assessing a client's current state of wellness and identifying the most critical areas for improvement. Our programs focus on the mastery of balancing catabolic and anabolic stressors to achieve overall homeostasis (yin/yang). Major areas of focus include: Thoughts, Breathing, Nutrition, Movement and Circadian Rhythms. These critical lifestyle factors have a substantial impact on the quality of one's health and vitality.
 
Traditional fitness programs often focus on one element such as extreme diet or long and gruelling exercise regimes. Important factors, such as the impact that the mind and emotions have on the physical body are not addressed, as well as the person's overall physiological load. Although these "one size fits all" approaches may provide some short term results, in the long term they disrupt hormonal systems and metabolic efficiency, cause physical and/or mental-emotional disequilibrium, and ultimately leave the person to fall back to their old habits. This "just do it" approach is just not enough for most of us. We need strategies!
